Our monthly educational webinars are about connection. We connect global laboratory animal professionals from all walks of life and provide them with a space and a forum to discuss the latest topics, concerns, and trends in the industry with the leading experts in our field. So, why do we do this? You deserve connection, collaboration, and educational opportunities too. That’s why all our webinars meet AALAS and CALAS requirements for 1.00 hour of Continuing Education (CE) and can be used elsewhere (where accepted).
It doesn’t matter your area of expertise, the title you hold, or how many years you’ve been in the industry. If you are passionate about your career in laboratory animal science – we have a seat for you. From lab animal technicians, researchers, professors, investigators, and attending veterinarians to facility directors, consultants, human resources and operations management professionals, and everything in between and beyond, we offer topics and discussions catered just for you – about what you care about.
It’s our priority to consistently deliver you the most up-to-date topics presented by the world’s most prominent leaders and pioneers in laboratory animal science. Some topics we’ve already explored include education about medicine, research and enrichment, personnel management and training, business operations, and disaster preparation. We have featured speakers such as Dr. David Brammer, Dr. Robert C. Dysko, Dr. Nuno Henrique Franco, Dr. Norman B. Guilloud, Dr. Timothy D. Mandrell, Dr. Marcel Perret-Gentil, Dr. Nirah H. Shomer, and more. We’re eager to continue to offer you more unique and far-reaching topics and presenters each month.
Our story began in 1968 when our founder, Michael A. Coiro Sr., opened a small factory in Allentown, New Jersey (during a boom period for science industries). Michael’s skillful background in the artful technology of stainless steel is what set Allentown apart. But it wasn’t until his wife and business partner, Dorothy, received life-saving care at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania that Michael experienced firsthand how vital biomedical research is.
He exited that experience with a keen awareness of what was at stake. He poured that care, dedication, and compassion into supporting the laboratory animal science community. That outpouring has helped us evolve into the world-class organization we are now. It has earned us the trust and respect of the most prominent biomedical research facilities around the globe.
